Sree Narayana College, Varkala, is an educational institution entrenched in the teachings of the great visionary Sree Narayana Guru. The institution is the manifestation of the farsightedness of a great leader, Sri R. Sankar.
I consider it an honour to captain such a prestigious educational institution.
Here, we try to help our children to mould their characters in a positive manner. It is not just teaching the prescribed texts and examinations that are taken care of, but we as a team strive to sculpt a generation with responsibility, resilience and fortitude.
The B+ grade given to the college by the NAAC is proof of its overall development into an institution with vision and potency. The postgraduate programmes offered by the college help our students to scale the heights of further education. The seminar series, TRENDZ, was an immensely successful program which ensured student participation in academic endeavours. It also helped us to bring in experts in different disciplines to our college for an interaction with our academia. Our departments have conducted UGC-sponsored seminars and have also won Major and Minor Research Projects. Our students have regularly been toppers in the University exams.
There are numerous clubs in the college that help the students to chisel their innate talents and skills. The activities organized by the departments and the clubs facilitate in strengthening their organization skills and leadership qualities, as well as in nurturing team-spirit.
Education, according to Sree Nrayana Guru, is a powerful tool that can and should be used for social upliftment. It is strictly in accordance with his vision that the staff of our college function, to impart educational knowledge to our students.
We hope to have more departments develop into research centres, so that more of our students can pursue their dreams and excel in life.
When the brilliant student brings laurels, we feel proud and happy. But when we witness a student from adverse conditions give a consistent and productive performance, and rise up to bring us glory, that is when we feel the most proud and happiest.
